Knowledge of:

Responding to fire alarms and emergency medical calls while operating and maintaining fire department vehicles and equipment. Responsible for participating in drills, training sessions, and inspections to uphold safety protocols and ensure compliance with fire codes.
This position reports to a Fire Captain.
- Responds to fire alarms, emergency medical calls, and other requests for assistance
- Drives, operates and maintains truck and other fire department vehicles
- Operate pumps and apparatus, uses ladders, hoses, and other fire suppression equipment with efficiency
- Handles power and hand tools to perform fire suppression, preventions, rescue, inspection, etc.
- Participates in drills and training classes
- Assists in performing inspections of commercial, industrial, and specified residential facilities in accordance with state and local fire safety codes.
- Attend and participate in presentations before local organizations and groups in support of fire prevention and fire safety.
- Provides administrative support to the Fire Captain as assigned.
- Performs routine maintenance of equipment, tools, vehicles and fire facilities.
- Performs a 56-hour work week schedule
Education:
Applicants are required to hold a high school diploma or GED and must be at least 18 years of age.
Other Requirements:
To be eligible for consideration, candidates must meet certain minimum requirements as mandated by the state. Firstly, applicants must be United States citizens, with proof of citizenship required upon hiring. Additionally, possessing a valid driver’s license is imperative, with out-of-state candidates needing to acquire one by the start of the Academy, and proof must be provided during the application process. Furthermore, candidates are required to hold valid CPR certification, along with an EMT card and a CPAT card, all of which must be presented during the application submission
